Ben felt out of place. As if he had forgotten something important. He stared blankly ahead from his place on the bleachers. For some reason he felt on edge today. He shifted around, putting a hand to his aching back. Maybe all that hunching over was finally starting to screw with him.
"Checkin' out the cheerleaders?" A raven haired boy smirked at the teen. "Pull it together, man. We've got a game in an hour."
"No." Ben objected, rolling his eyes. "I don't know. I guess I'm just freaking out." He shrugged, staring down at his feet. "Like, what if I trip or something and cost us the game?"

I really tried to get their characters down right so that's what I was most afraid of. I know people usually have these headcanons about them being childhood friends and all, but idk I just wanted to try something different.
